I'm getting married out of town, but live here in Raleigh and bought my dress at a sample sale, so I need a really good seamstress! Anyone had good experiences with anyone in particular in the area? Thanks!

Thuy (pronounced "Twee") is awesome. Her number is (919) 720-4173. Her address is 6514 Old Wake Forest Road, Raleigh. Her shop name is Amy's Fine Tailoring. She worked at Saks for years and went out on her own last year. Her prices are similar to Saks alteration charges but she is worth the money! Especially for bridal alterations! Call her!

I used Ruth for both my wedding and bridesmaid dresses. She actually did a last minute alteration the day of my wedding as well for an out of town bridesmaid that had horrible results with her seamstress. She is great and affordable. Does couture and all types of gowns!! Here is her website.

Olga Samarskaya!!!! She is amazing. She used to be in Cary but now I believe she's in Raleigh on Leesville Rd. Everyone I know has used her for their wedding gowns and she does fabulous work at an affordable price. I wouldn't recommend or trust anyone else! :)

I second the vote for Olga. She did my dress (it was a size 10, and I needed a size 2/4 and it came out even more amazing than I had ever hoped) and she is a brilliant seamstresses and her genuine nature will help calm any sort of nerves you may have about your dress!
