Could you be more specific as to what you are looking for in a venue to make it into your dream wedding? Are you looking for a beach or a historical site? Hacienda or ballroom? Number of guests? Also, an estimated price point can be helpful.
Thank you for all the information, Katie!! I will definitely look into all your recommendations.
@firstname.lastname@example.org - we are looking for a beach ceremony with a reception at the same location (outdoor or indoor - doesn't matter). As far as guests, we believe that we will have around 50-100 guests (we have a definite 30 ppl coming). The estimated price point is around $5k-$8k. Can you recommend any specific places?
YOu do have many options. There are three regions you may want to look at: San Juan metro area, Rincon area (west) and the north east area.
Rincón area. There you have spectacular sunsets and it is THE place if you are a beach person. My first suggestion is the Rincón Ocean Villa. A beach mansion with ten rooms. It was the venue for shania twain wedding and I recently did a wedding for a couple that worked for the President of the US. They said their vows while the sun set behind them. Extremely romantic. You can see the wedding and the Villa here: http://www.davidmedina.com/weddings/wedding-of-the-week-sally-brandon/
You also have Rincon of the Seas hotel. There is an airport in Aguadilla (45 minutes away) so your guest do not have to fly to San Juan (3 hour drive). Plus, there are many rentals properties and guest houses in the area.
The San Juan metro area has the convenience of having many hotel options for your guests as well as being close to the airport, major shopping malls, and Old San Juan. My choices there would be: La Concha Resort, The Ritz-Carlton and El San Juan Hotel. The main thing to consider in the metro area is that if you want the ceremony at the beach, all Puerto Rico beaches are public and hotels cannot deny access to the beaches. This means that during certain times of the year (Summer) the beaches can be crowded. La Concha and the Ritz compensate by having an area inside their property that gives you the beach feeling without having to be at the beach.
In the North East you have El Conquistador with a gorgeous bluff overseeing the ocean and many things for your guest to do. For example they have a water park as well as a private island. You also have the Wyndham Rio Mar and the St. Regis Bahia.
Hi, I see that David Medina, who I have worked with both on the East and West Coast of Puerto Rico. I am a Event Planner from Rincon and the town is a beautiful place for a wedding. Rincon Ocean Villa is a great Venue. I have an upcoming wedding there in the Fall. Check out my website www.tastebudspr.com and look at some different beach venues for some ideas. Good Luck.
