Hello!
I don't have a wedding date set yet, but I came across Cartagena as I was looking for jobs, and fell in love with it! My finance and I did some research and decided to have our wedding there, hopefully in a year or so. I am Afghan and he is Greek, and we both live in Toronto,Canada, so planning a wedding in Cartagena seems a little difficult for us right now (except that we both speak Spanish, which hopefully can make the whole experience less stressful). I am planning on having an outdoor wedding reception, and am looking for somewhere that would fit around 200 people. We have a small budget, and trying to mix both of our cultures into the wedding requires a bit of planning and probably will cost us a little bit more. If anyone can provide me with some ideas of outdoor wedding venues that accommodate roughly 200 guests, as well as a good wedding planner that can help us plan a wedding that is a mix of both of our backgrounds , it will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Cheers!

Hi Maryam: Congrats on your wedding! Cartagena is a great place for a wedding, but you do need a planner. Our's was Team Bride. They were great. Gina and Nazly took care of everything for us. Gina works from the states but travels for the wedding, while Nazly works on site. So you have 2 planners working for you. Plus they are very detailed oriented and will make sure to include your traditions. We could have not asked for a better planner. As far as venue ours was at Club Naval, which is a private club and you do need a member to have a wedding there. Since you are talking of an out door wedding I would suggest to have your wedding in the early months of the year to avoid the rain season, eg. March or April are good month. Do not go beyond May! Rain is unpredictable in Cartagena! Jan and Feb have too many events going on and Jan is still high season. Good Luck
