I would like a very simple, easy-to-decorate location for both my ceremony and reception around spartanburg/greenville. I am looking for a space that is kind of dark so I can have LED uplighting. I want someone who is not strict about the caterer and does not require a license to cater, as I would like my fiancé's mother to do our cooking. I like places such as Grace Hall, Zen, and the Huguenot Mill, but they all require a license. ANY ideas? PLEASE!
My venue is Greer City Park, downtown Greer. They do not require a licensed caterer. My wedding is outside in the amphitheater and the reception is inside. They have lots of weddings in their reception hall.
Try the Upcountry History Museum. They don't require you to use a certain caterer. I don't know how big your wedding is, but it is a lot to ask a non-professional to cater an entire wedding. Hope it goes well!
I was looking for a place like this and it wasn't easy! Here are the places I found. The Artisan Traders Building, Innovate Building, and Lindsey Plantation. All places let you bring your own catering and do not require a license. Prices on all three places are very reasonable. Hope this helps!
Which did you go with, may I ask? Is there a website on the Innovate Building? I could not find any pictures about it. I will look into the Upcountry History Museum as well. I was actually eyeballing the Greer Events Center, looks very nice. Where is the Lindsey Plantation? THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP!
I agree with Bianca! View Point at Buckhorn Creek is great. The owner is AMAZING! I officiated a wedding there in June 2012 and the property is beautiful! You may also try Timerrock@Hopkins Farm in Simpsonville. Beautiful ceremony & Reception area!
