I had my reception there. It is an EXCELLENT venue for a reception. And it's is very reasonable on price. What's nice about it is it doesn't tae much decoration (you can't hang anything and they discourage balloons). But we didn't need it. The beauty of the building takes care of most of that. I would recommend chair covers (I didn't have them but also didn't have the extra money for them). You have to bring everything in with you, as far as food and bar. You can provide your own bartender but it has to be a licensed bar tender or they won't let you serve alcohol. You bring your own caterer as well. The only caution I give you is to fully research your caterer. Make sure your caterer has good reviews. That is my biggest regret and I had a lot of problems because I didn't do as good of a job. Make sure your caterer will provide plates, silverware, linens, etc. We saved a ton of money doing everything ourselves!

Thank you so much for your response. I will take your advice about the chair covers. How many people did it seat comfortably? Also can you tell me what caterers not TO USE!!!! Were there enough bathroom facilities for 150 people?

You will be able to fit 150 people easily. There are bathrooms available on the main floor of the ballroom (2nd floor) and also on the 3rd floor. We had about 120 and it was just fine. Our caterer is not allowed back at the courthouse. There are 5 different names for this caterer.
A+ Catering of Indiana and A Caterer Who Cares are two of the names. If budget is an issue, talk to Stracks or Jewel. If budget is not an issue, White Hawk will cater. Those are just examples, there are plenty more. If you need more help, just let me know!

Do you know about how much the rental fee is for there?

It was $500 in 2010 but you would have to contact them directly

My caterer was supposed to provide... It has to br someone licensed and have license on person

How are they about coming in to set up decor?

I was able to set up the day before but if they have an event you won't be able to. They were great with me.
