Hey there SLW!

My husband and I both live in Shreveport and got married here. We had our reception at the American Rose Center - they have beautiful rose gardens! (http://www.ars.org/?page_id=74) Some other venues I have attended weddings at are Silver Lake Ballroom (http://silverlakeballroom.com/) and Shreveport Country Club (http://shreveportcountryclub.org/).

Hi there,
I was going to suggest the American Rose Center too, depending on the time of year. It is in the middle of nowhere though, so if people are staying IN Shreveport, it will be a 15/30 minute drive.
Savoie's The Catering Place is where my husband and I had our reception (my cousin had his wedding AND reception there) and it's in town for those of you who will need to stay in hotels and whatnot. I remember their prices and selection being very reasonable. http://www.geraldsavoie.com/
There's also the swanky Silver Lake Ballroom, and The University Club--both downtown. I'm not sure of their prices. And there are several country clubs around town--and there has to be SOMETHING on Cross Lake.
... and the casinos if your fancy swings that way.
