This still might be too expensive, but we used M&M for our wedding party and they were wonderful! We got married at a church in Lincoln Park and our reception was downtown/Old Town. We did not have transportation for our 150 guests, but honestly it worked out fine. Some people wanted to walk a bit, some went to nearby restaurants/bars (since there was a delay before the reception) , some took cabs, etc. and it worked out totally fine.

Im assuming you've looked at bus/van rentals already? Try checking out zipcar.com. There's a membership fee but can be as cheap as $8/hr.

My friend rented a trolley, but it's like you said - prohibitively expensive. We had the same problem: Married at a church in the West Loop and reception in Lincoln Park. In the end we just let everyone transport themselves. People will find a way, they don't expect you to do everything for them. Make sure you spell out their transportation options on the WeddingMapper link you give them and your job is done. Some of the people at our reception got tickets for parking in a restricted zone, but in the end it wasn't our fault. Drivers beware!

I found the limo companies and their "bus" transports were expensive when I was planning last year. I received a referral to try Masters Transportation and found their "bus" options to be much less expensive than Windy City Limo and all the other places I called. It's worth a call to Jimmy Venn 312-735-3973 to find out pricing. They booked 2 weeks in advance, were there on time and the transportation was clean inside and out. The driver looked a little ragged, but the rest is more important. Highly recommend a call to see if they can work within your budget.

I would just like to echo another post regarding M&M Limousine, We used thier services as well when my husband and I got married this past August. We needed transportation for our guests from the hotel to the church, and then to the reception. We secured a mini-van with them, and we were very pleased! They were professional and prompt, and thier rates were the best in the city, (and we looked everywhere trust me!. I would totally recommend M&M limousine for your transportation needs.
