We are recently engaged and want to get married soon, so we have a small budget to work with in our timeframe. We set a date for October. We are having a small and intimate wedding. Only 20-30 guests at most... maybe less. I'm struggling trying to finding a church or wedding site that is less than $500 for our wedding. Any ideas of what we could do or where we could go? We wanted to get married in a church, but most are out of our range or won't allow non-member weddings. Help!
Julie, my husband and I got married at the UNC Arboretum for ~$500. It was November, and it was absolutely beautiful! I didn't really want to put up pictures here, but I'd be happy to email some to you so you can see the scenery if you'd like. :)
EDIT: Oh, I should also mention that we had ~45 guests, and the White Garden was the perfect size.
If you are looking for a chapel, St. Mark's Chapel in Raleigh is so sweet and holds 55 people. It is City property and rents for $100 per hour with a 2 hour minimum plus a refundable deposit of $75. You can call Troy Burton at (919) 857-4361 and see if he has availability for your date but beware, October and May are the most popular wedding months here. There are other churches that allow non-members but none in your price range. The reply above from Laura--I believe she intended to say the NC State JC Raulston Arboretum because it has a gazebo area for weddings called the White Garden. UNC arboretum does not have a White Garden. You might try the Raleigh Rose Garden behind Raleigh Little Theater too. I would invite you to use my wedding garden but I limit the number of guests to 20 plus the couple and I would be the officiant. Your reception would be elsewhere. If this is of interest to you, contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org to see if I have your date and time available. There are photos of weddings in my garden on my Raleigh Wedding Blog. You can Google it.
Thank you both for your replies. The Arboretum and Gardens are beautiful, but over our budget. Our guest list is closer to 30. My future father-in-law will be performing the ceremony. We will keep the search going. Best regards.
