We were married in Pasadena Nov 2010 and feel so lucky to have found Megan and Keith Blaine to photograph our wedding. We wanted someone with a good sense of design and a photojournalist approach to our photos. They exceeded all our expectations. They are so professional and unobtrusive that we almost never saw them and yet they captured all the important and sweet moments. The bonus is that they are the nicest people!
www. Onelove-photo.com did my pictures and is AMAZING. Sara is the owner and She's in Pasadena, too! Check her out and tell her Samantha reffered you. She's shooting 2 of my friends weddings this year. If you don't want to spend a super ton,her associates shoot at a lesser rate (margaret shot my wedding),who are equally talented.
Most public places require permits as my husband and I learned for our wedding pics. Happy Trails is a beautiful place that I would take full advantage of for pics. If you have a great photographer it would be a great backdrop for your pictures. City Hall is also beautiful, but the last thing you would want is to be told by a security guard you need to leave if you don't have a permit. They are more lenient I think if you are taking engagement pictures, because you can be more discreet, but also consider that if your wedding is on Saturday, there could be a wedding going on at City Hall in the courtyard. Enjoy your wedding and wish you the best.
I got married at Castle Green in Pasadena and the venue is a beautiful, vintage backdrop. There's just so much personality at this venue for photos. Not sure if there is a fee or permit required, since I got married there.
I think anywhere in old town makes for some great photos because of the great exposed brick alleys, etc.
