We are interested in using St. Demetrios for our reception. Does anyone have experience working with the venue? What were the costs, etc? Any information you can provide would be appreciated!
Also,we are searching for a reception venue (if this doesn't work out)less than 30 minutes from the Basilica of St. Paul for 125 people, and that would allow us to bring in our own caterer and alcohol.
I've photographed weddings there. I have worked with them a few times over the past year. www.lindsayrachaelevents.com might have some information you are looking for regarding specifics. For prices, and catering/alcohol you might want to contact the venues directly since cost, and policies have changed for a lot of venues over the last 6 months. A bride last year might have been able to bring her caterer and now since places might want to maximize profits, will have changed the policy to have catering inhouse. The St. Demetrios does allow for all that you are requesting from what I remember, and my last wedding there was about 3 months ago.
We (Pyramid DJ's) were just there a few weeks ago DJing and have been there many times in the past. Room is big with lots of open space for guests. Nice view of the water and the room has great acoustics for music. It is a real nice place to hold your wedding.
