any tips for weddings in mission san juan capistrano?
Hello. I haven't gotten married YET, but our wedding is coming up. Who is marrying you? What questions do you have? We've been through most of the process with meeting with the preist and engagement encounter and all that... you can ask me for details.
We've done that too. I'm just worried I heard bad stories about getting married at the Mission San Juan Cap that they're too strict with everything. I'm trying to put together a miselette for the ceremony. I just find it weird that they assigned a wedding day coordinator too and the lady doesn't offer any information you're the one that needs to ask all the info.
Yes, we've run into that too. Are you dealing with Lisa & Lauren? Lauren is super helpful, but she organizes the music, but she helped me a lot more than Lisa. I just had to request our rehearsal date and time. When is your wedding? Who is marrying you? Father Michael is way more laid back than Monsignor. I heard that Monsignor will not allow bare back or shoulders. I've been working o my program for the ceremony too, and I had to find one on the internet t go off of, they wouldn't help me. Lauren told me she'd take a look at mine closer to the date and help me fix anything I got wrong. I can send you mine if that'll help.
Yes I have Lauren for music and Lisa for the wedding. I will meet with Lauren in December and my wedding is April 2011. I'm a non parishioner and Marilyn told me that I need to find my own priest. If I push for a priest at SJC would they give it to me? My priest in my own parish said SJC should provide since the fee is already a lot for nonparishioners. But that's another discussion. I went to a wedding and they have a good miselette. I'll scan and email it to you if you want. Do u mind emailing me yours? Thanks.
weird. I dont have a meeting with either of the girls. I just emailed back and forth with them. You really have to find your own priest? Do you have one that you like? Ask if you can make an appointment with Father Michael. He's a little kookie, but he's super nice. Maybe he can tell you he'd marry you? The church is super expensive. My sisters got married there 10 years ago and each of their weddings were $200 total for everything. Now, well you know its way more than that. My program is o my home computer.
by the way.. where are you having your reception? What are your colors?
my color is sort of lighter shade of fuscia and silver. i think i can find a priest. i'm more concerned regarding the program itself for day of the wedding. i was even thinking of getting a day of wedding coordinator but the ones i've contacted charge about $1,000. i dont get to meet with lisa, she said she does everything through email or phone. but lauren asked me to set a date with her when we can go over the music. i think they recommend atleast 3 months before the wedidng. did you choose music from the music sheet that came in the packet or did you request other songs not on their list? when is your wedding?
My color is wine. a mix between red and purple. I thought that Lisa was the day of coordinator. She handles everything... and does the rehearsal. Our wedding is March 12, 2011, so just before yours. I picked all my music through the packet that Marilyn gave me. Where is your reception?
The songs I have selected this far are:
21 Where there is love
22 Wherever you go
24 Ava Maria
Processional & Recessional
31 Bridal March (Bride entrance)
32 Canon in D (bridal party entrance)
36 Jesu, Joy of Mns Desiring
38 Ode to Joy
50 Wedding march (Bride & Groom departure)
yeah lisa is supposed to be day of wedding coordinator. but she offers no help though. maybe i just dont ask her questions. i'm at the beginning phase and just trying not to stress out. reception is at hyatt in garden grove. i actually listened to the cd they sent with the package and it's pretty good. are you getting the extra additional musicians?
Yes, we are going to do a string trio. I am really excited about that. We're saving money on all the would be decorations though - since they strongly discourage you from doing any decorations. I would LOVE to do candles(LED even) all down the aisle, but then I know they would be donated to the church... What made you pick this church?
