We are looking to have a casual wedding next october and wondering if anyone has a suggestion for a location. The biggest thing is we want to supply the alcohol and most locations wont allow this. We are thinking max 150ppl. Also is it wrong to have the ceremony at the same location as the reception? Thanks for any help with this!

Try the ubc boathouse in Richmond. It is just down the street from
the olympic oval. It is right on the water, you can provide your own bar and caterers. If it is a nice day you can have the ceremony outside on the dock or inside.
Depending on what location you want to have your wedding reception, here are few good locations:
Vancouver: Heritage Hall on Main and 15th- very nice hall, they will allow you to bring in any vendor you want.
The Quay Inn ( I think that's name) right by the Quay in New Westminster, you are allowed to bring in any vendor.
Confederation Centre- Burnaby, on Albert St, right by the library.
The Roundhouse in Yaletown
Riverside Plaza- Richmond, they have 3 halls
Barkley Brook Garden- Gorgous place in Langley/Aldergrove area on 84th..
you are welcome to visit my website: I have many different location options on my website..and if you need someone to tend your bar, wedding chair cover, sashe rental or evening wedding cake,..you can always give me a shout
Hope that helps!

The above venuse does not have their own F&B.
Our hotel is centrally located just 3-4 blocks from the Broadway City Sky train station. We would be happy to set a special wedding group rate for your guests. You may call me on my direct line at 604-707-2022

We are holding our wedding and reception at the Heritage Hall on Main Street in Vancouver. The venue holds 150 people.
If you have not hired your bartender for your Oct 9th wedding, please fill free to check us out.

we have done many weddings and charity events at Heritage Hall. We can bring a professional bar for you and set it to the right of the door just as you enter.
Cheers!
Whonnock Lake in Maple Ridge is THE BEST! We were married there and hired Curt from BC Bartenders to take care of our beverages. We got married there and had the ceremony. I can give you all the best contacts for music food etc.

it is so so so RIGHT to have your ceremony and reception at the same place! environmentally you reduce the carbon footprint of your wedding, you reduce the hassle of your guests finding parking in two different locations, and there's less risk of your out of town guests getting lost between locations! we had our wedding and ceremony at the same place and it worked great.
all the above suggestions are great (especially heritage hall), i'll just add a few others:
Nikkei Place in Burnaby is a great location for a wedding. they will allow you to bring in your own caterer and alcohol http://www.nikkeiplace.org/ next door is a lovely community hall where you could hold your ceremony, then guests can walk next door to the reception space.
also, look into the hellenic centre, which is where we had our wedding. through some fancy decor we split their large hall in two and it fit our needs perfectly. the price is right as well. http://www.helleniccommunity.org/
good luck!
