No weddings there but I live on Point Loma. They are both beautiful sites - very close to each other. It really depends on your number of guests. Ladera St only accommodates 50 people. Luscombs point can hold up to 150.

Does anyone have any recommendations for me..I want to have a Spanish inspired wedding on the sand. I would like to hire a mariachi group and would like to have the ceremony in the sand, but I have a tight budget...Hotel Del Coronado would be perfect but it's out of my budget.

Look into Old Town San Diego (http://www.oldtownsandiegoguide.com/). There are a variety of restaurants to hold your reception. Close by is Mission San Diego de Acala and there are beautiful wedding ceremony sites around the area (Balboa Park) No sand, but wonderful Spanish inspired venues.
