Check out that website. For my wedding I've rented the north beach clubhouse, which is a reception site on the beach, pretty cheap if you're a resident, but I'm not sure what it would cost since you're not. It's basically just a big room on a beach, and lots of people get married on the beach and then have the reception in there. I'm not sure what the protocol is for actually getting married on the beach, because I'm not, but someone at the department of parks and recreation should be able to tell you. Good luck, it's a beautiful place!

Mine is August 28, 2010. Just so you know, you may have a problem booking a saturday. I literally booked august 28, 2010 last winter, I mean, this time last year. And it was the ONLY saturday available for the summer of 2010. Oh wait, I just reread your post and you said Sunday! Wonderful, you'll probably be ok. I have to go to work now, but I can email you some photos from a previous wedding there. As I said, it's nothing special, just a room on a beach, but the deck is gorgeous and you can really dress it up if you decorate it. Have fun planning and let me know your email if you want those photos.

We're not actually getting married on the beach... instead we're getting married at the south ferry church, which is about 10 minutes away and GORGEOUS. I wanted to get married right on the beach, but after a while we decided to go with the church, in case it rains. You can rent a tent for the deck if you want a rainy day plan, I think it's about 600 dollars. We're hoping to have a nice champagne toast on the deck though!

That picture I included is some stranger's wedding, but hadley, the lady who does the bookings, sent it to me. I have others, but this only lets me upload one at a time. Most of the other photos are ones my mom took, but the building is empty and undecorated, so this gives you a better idea.

Do you know about the knot? There is a whole forum for rhode island brides on www.theknot.com. If you go back through them, you'll find lots of info about narragansett weddings. Caterers, hair and makeup, djs, etc.

My caterer is alyson from amalfi (literally right down the road at the pier). Our DJ is suzanne from moondance and we're using nancy birch from grandiflora designs for flowers. They're all local. But, read reviews on the knot forum and you'll get some ideas. Happy planning!

Hi Anne, my name is Laura and my fiance and I are having our reception at the North beach clubhouse Aug 20th 2011. We are also getting married at the South Ferry Church too!! Dont you just love the chapel? It really is gorgeous. Anyway, I have been searching for some pictures of the clubhouse since I have yet to see the inside. Unfortunetly Hadley is only available to show it weekdays and working in boston, we havent been able to actually see the space.. Would it be too much to ask if you could email any pictures you may have of the clubhouse to me. It would be soo helpful!!

Hi Christy,

I was married at Scarborough Beach at the end of Sept 2009 - it was beautiful. There is a large lawn at the southernmost end of the beach overlooking the water where we had garden chairs delivered for our guests. We had to fil out a sepcial event use form from the Narragansett Parks & Rec Dept to have it there, but thats all.
Good luck!
