Stone Chapel is usually booked pretty far in advance. I have never been to a wedding there, but I have heard it can be a little noisy because of the all wood floors.
If you're looking for chapels or churches, there is the glass chapel between Springfield & Branson (http://www.stonegatechapel.com/). University Heights Baptist is beautiful, pretty pricey, and can hold a at least 400 on the main floor. Most Catholic or Methodist churches will not allow outsiders who do not attend there to use their church or they require that their minister do a prayer or the ceremony. I believe Wesley United Methodist on Republic Rd does not have requirements like that.
It's probably best to determine how many people you plan to invite and what type of setting you want for the ceremony. That will narrow it down if you plan on getting married in Springfield. There are not a lot of venue options, especially for large weddings.
Yeah you can book it! Just call the university - Drury. But you better call soon because that place books up quick! You should be able to go to drury.edu and find the number for the lady who is in charge of Stone Chapel.
To view all of the sites in our association you can go to metbride.com and click resourced on the top menu and then, click Springfield. It is divided by category, you will click the ones you are interested and will give you a list each with its own info about it and contact info. We also have a copy of Metropolitan Bride for sale that has a 'wedding yellow pages' in the back. Those are on sale at Barnes and Noble, Price Cutter and Walmart. Let me know if you have any other questions. MEG
