Hello! My fiance & I will be getting married at the end of January & Islamorada has always been our first choice. Unfortunately, my dad can no longer afford the wedding we were planning. We are still planning on having it in Islamorada, as a few family & friends have already made flight & hotel arrangements/payments. I am wondering if there are free sites, gulfside, that anyone can pass along to us for a short ceremony? It would be a sunset ceremony, so somewhere along the ocean would be ideal. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
There is a place called "Crane Point" (it is in Marathon, a relatively short distance south of Islamorada)it is a natural preserve that has an area right on the water they call "the point" which makes for a beautiful sunset ceremony. It is very inexpensive to rent ~$500 for groups of 100 or more and that includes ceremony and reception so if you are just doing the ceremony it may even be less $. http://www.cranepoint.net/
