The Abbie Holmes Estate
Hi! I am planning a beach wedding in South Jersey and so far we have booked our venue at The Abbie Holmes Estate in Clermont, NJ. Can anyone tell me anything about this venue that could help in my planning. Also, any recommendations for local hotels for guests, florists, bakery, chair rentals, photographer, DJ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Cape May, NJ, USA
I am not familiar with your venue, but we used DJs available for our Cape may wedding. They do most of the shore area. I had Mike as my dj and he was great.
Chair rentals: weddings by the sea in Cape may does chair rentals. They may go up to Clermont. It was 2-3/per chair for set up and take down in the sand. Less if not in the sand.
There are so many good photographers in the area. but one that is not local but does travel is http://www.thewiebners.com/blog.cfm
I didnt use them but a friend did and now I wish I had. I know they have done at least 2 jersey shore weddings.
Florists: Mums the word and Marie's flower shop. Both in or near Wildwood. I used Cape winds and DO NOT recommend them. (LOL that i have a lot more recs for people I should have used!)
Thank you so much! I grew up in the area but I am now planning from a few hours away and it is so difficult. The photographs are awesome and I emailed her tonight...Thanks again!

I was in Pittsburg when we first got engaged and then moved to DE, so I feel your pain on long distance planning. There are lots of great vendors, just a matter of finding ones that suit you.
I went through their photo blog after I linked it yesterday and I am sad once again that I didn't know of them until after my wedding. They are really great AND super fun too.
Good luck, I hope you have a great wedding!

Hi Miss Beachwed ~ Congratulations on your wedding coming in 2011! I just happen to live literally just minutes from Abbey Holmes, a very lovely choice! The staff there is great :) I've even had my own parties there at Abbey.
That being said, I am the Violinist from Grace Note String Ensembles. Planning & playing wedding music is what I do for my life's work. If you'd like to consider having live music for your CEREMONY, we certainly would love to be there to add a great ambience to your ceremony time. We are experienced, and love what we do, and have tons of happy brides in our midst.
We can play classical & contemporary music or a mix, depending on what you like for your day...we'd done all classical...or even an all Beatles wedding :) From Vivaldi to Viva La Vida
Here's a few musical options for weddings:
String Trio with Violin, Viola & Cello
String Trio with Violin, Acoustic Guitar & Cello
Violin & Harp
Violin & Acoustic Guitar
Violin & Cello
Solo Acoustic Guitar
we also do play cocktail hour too.
If you want to find out more... Check us out on FACEBOOK (search Grace Note String Ensembles) for pics and clips or here on weddingmapper.
