We would love to know what your colors are for your wedding. Mine were brown, green, and cream/white for the reception and all white for the ceremony. Check out my photo.

Is it ok if I don't have official "wedding colors"??? I'm getting married in Massachusetts in October, so I just want the whole decorative scheme to be "autumnal." The wedding isn't until 2009, so I've got some time to tweak the plans, but I'm thinking that the bridesmaids' dresses will be a chocolate brown or a dark copper color. And the flowers will be all the typical New England fall colors -- reds, oranges, yellows, browns, dark greens, etc. The reception is in a tent on an estate, so there will be fall foliage all around us, too. Is it alright that I haven't narrowed my colors down to just two or three?

Lauren S - I changed my colors 3 or 4 times when I was planning. Every time I looked at another magazine or on a website I would find great ideas and my colors would change again. You have plenty of time and I don't think that you need just 2 or 3. You will need to narrow it down for your invitations, then you will need to think about your flowers, centerpieces, linens, the grooms colors, etc. Having a couple of the same colors throughout will help tie everything together.

I don't think it is in bad taste, I am doing the samething. I have the basic color for the chapel of white with the red roses to symbloize the love that is shared with our friends and with us. However I have changed my mind on the dresses for the bridal party and that of the groomsmen. The groom is still going to be in a dark tux, and lilac accents, the rest of the party will be in dark brown, Latte with the lilac accents to match each other (the groomsmen and the bridesmaids) the reception will be in lilac, white and of course some silver and champaine colors to still give it the fall theme. We are having the second reception in Northern California for the family and friends that could not attend the celebration here in Las Vegas. That on will be all in fall colors, the dress and suit worn by both myself and my new husband will be of champaine and latte, with the fall colors for the reception hall, and all the linens and table ware. My wedding is this November so I have just a short time to get the details all worked out.

It doesn't matter what your colors are, what your flowers are, what the centerpieces are either. It matters that your closest friends and family are there to witness the celebration of love. No one remembers the colors, or the flowers, or the centerpieces, or even the food for that matter - they remember what a great time they had at your wedding. Don't stress over what colors to choose!

I love these colors! What exactly is your theme? We are having our wedding in a ballroom so the pink and gold theme works beautifully. What are your table linens? flowers? bridesmaids wearing?

My wedding colours are going to be dark pink, dark purple and an accent colour of copper. I think they're pretty colours for a November1 wedding- right between fall and winter!

For Lauren S.- There are a LOT of colours in the fall pallette you can use, and in that part of the USA!! GO FOR IT!! Don't forget that dark purple is also a great fall colour! Check out Invitations By Dawn for amazing seasonal ideas for invitations and decorating/favours. And don't be afraid to actually USE real leaves, berries and nuts in your scheme. Just be sure to use nice clean ones, and spray them with hairspray so they don't further dry out. Then mount them and/or schellac and away you go! There are a number of great hole punches of leaves of various sizes, and when used with coloured paper and copper foil, make a great fall variation of the traditional rose-petals for the flower girl, as well as amazing table decorations along with mini-votives and mirrors!

csantare, we have an old south/Marie Antoinette theme. You can hardly call it a theme really. The bridesmaids are in pink and I think their bouquets will be ivory and pink with white feathers. I'm wearing a pink ostrich feather in my hair for the reception, my shoes are gold (fabulous little flats that I found on endless.com) and I dyed my crinoline pink. I'm using a lot of ivory to balance out the gold. The tables linens are ivory with a pink overlay and the chairs are gold chivari ballroom chairs with gold cushions. I got the most incredible pink and gold invitations from dearemma stationary on etsy.com. I'm wearing lots of brooches, we've purchased a vintage apothecary beverage dispenser for the bar and we are drinking out of kerr jars (my fiance's last name is Kerr). Our pen to sign the guest book with is the largest pink ostrich feather pen you've ever seen and I have pink and gold dance cards for the ladies that match the invitations (this last one was a DIY project). csantare, I don't know how far you are into planning but I've been planning for a year and a half and I have TONS of ideas. Let me know if you need more.
