Hotel Metro is pretty nice, and it's in the middle of the bar scene on Milwaukee Street. It has it's own bar on the ground floor, and in addition guests of the hotel can use "Zen on Seven" which is a bar for private events typically, which has an indoor as well as an outdoor part. Additional bars in the area would include kennadees, charro, three and Apartment 720 if you're into the whole club thing. Finally, there is Cathedral Square within walking distance. A number of other bars there such as Flannerys, Taylors, Bad Genie and Mikeys.

Hope that helps. You might also consider a boat cruise. Milwaukeeans love to drink on the water.

The intercontinental hotel in downtown Milwaukee is the closest and probably best hotel in the "Milwaukee bar scene" area. There is at least 30 different bars, clubs and great restaurants in walking distance. Also the this hotel has a shuttle that will take you to the casino and other Milwaukee hot spots. Go to the hotels website or call 1-888-424-6835. hope this helps!
Good luck,
Antonio

I agree, Hotel Metro, The Pfister, or Intercontinental are all good hotels, and in a great area for bar hopping (Milwaukee St.)

I would say that the Hotel Metro is the place to be. Great hotel, great location for bar hopping and dining. I put all of my clients there that come in from New York and they love the hotel and the area. My friend, Omar, is one of the owners of Carnevor (Steak Place), Charro (Mexican), Umami Moto (Asian Fusion), Kennedees (Sports Bar). Talk to Omar and tell him Mike Wendt sent you and he will take care of all the girls. All of these bars and dining spots are less than a block away from the Hotel Metro. Have fun!
