You all know about the budget thing and i am on a really tight budget, like depending on my taxes budget, to pay for my wedding. I am planning; but not yet confirmed, at beardslee castle in little falls new york. Any suggestions for good and inexpensive decorations and such for my wedding? i need to keep it below 3000 bucks

I had my wedding there and to be honest besides centerpieces I don't think I had any other decorations...they provide the table cloth and tea light candles...I had approx. 140 ppl attend my wedding and you really can't see much of anything as far as decor goes. I also did not do favors. It's a great place to have a wedding...Good Luck!
Oh thats great..so really all i have to do is focus on my flowers, DJ, and all the other stuff? thank you for the input it will help alot
I'll be honest I spent A LOT on the flowers and don't remember even seeing them...so I would not spend too much time focusing on flowers...By the time you enter the reception room everyone is already in the room and trust me if you have a fun family all that's going to matter is the bar and dance floor:) The Dj is definitely something that could make or break your reception though so make sure you get a good one!

Depending on your color scheme and tastes, you can do a lot with very little. We had an indoor, evening wedding at Beardslee during late summer and really wanted to take advantage of the romantic & rustic scene at the castle.
We used our option to include candles from Beardslee on each table and then made our own submersible, floral centerpieces. We had a crimson and ivory theme and decided the simplest way to add these was through the centerpieces (and of course the bridal party). The vases were purchased on ebay for super cheap, the fake flowers from AC Moore, as well as the stones for the base. Under water, the flowers look pretty real until you touch them. Adding floating candles (real or fake) give the vases a nice touch. You can also buy submersible tea lights in different colors, but we skipped that option. Longer tables had multiple vases, shorter or round tables had just one vase, all lined with the tapered candles from Beardslee. We also sprinkled red rose petals along the table (ivory linens) and that helped add to our crimson and ivory theme.
Overall, the centerpieces cost us $277 and a lot of our guests took them home to put on display in their own homes or reuse the vases later.I used my wedding bouquet as a centerpiece on our sweethearts table along with candles, and the cake was surrounded with candles as well. Our favors were minature castles that cost us a buck something a piece (we got engaged at a castle in Scotland, so we were on a roll with castle stuff) and we asked the staff at Beardslee to place one at each place setting. It was simple, but everyone complimented us on how elegant the room looked. It helps to start off with a beautiful castle as your venue!
If candles or fake flowers aren't your thing, other affordable options that go a long way are fruit or dessert platters, centerpieces displaying photos from your relationship are always cute. It is really all going to depend on your "theme" and taste, but don't be afraid to follow the simple and elegant path :-).
There are a few affordable florists in Little Falls too, so fresh flowers can be tastefully arranged for a smaller wedding for a budget certainly less than $3000.
