Hi!!

We are getting married in about six weeks and I'm looking for unique places in La Jolla or the surrounding area to take pictures. we won't be seeing eachother before the ceremony, so the guys will need to go to one locations, and the girls to another. WindanSea? I'm told there's a "Plot Garden" at the La Jolla Playhouse at UCSD. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Hi guys,
Do you already have a photographer or are you still looking? I'm curious because it's something that they'd normally have a lot of insight on and could advise you about? (Well... I'm also curious because I might have your date available - 6 weeks out, right?) Usually I try to find out a bit more about what type of background, timing for travel and time of day, and a bit more personal preferences.... but La Jolla is loaded with beautiful places.

Hi there and congratulations on your wedding!

The Museum of Contemporary Art is a venue in La Jolla where weddings take place. They have a beautiful garden area where pictures can be taken. Here's the link to the museum with information and pictures of the locations.

Please let me know if this help. Good luck :)

The campus of UCSD does have a number of nice venues - eucalyptus groves, interesting sculptures, etc. (I'm not familiar with the "plot garden" at the Playhouse, I'm sorry to say). Parking at UCSD in the summer is a piece of cake and the campus is empty...once classes start in Sept. not so much, except on weekends, perhaps....The Museum of Contemporary Art is also a good choice. If you also want beach/ocean photos, there is easy access from a stairway alongside MOCA.

Another place you might consider is Balboa Park...beautiful gardens, fountains, interesting sculptures and Spanish architecture make it an ideal location for weddings and photographs. There's also Old Town, with its very Mexican feel. Think about the look you want (contemporary, traditional, funky, historic) and the logistics and go from there.
