You should try a place called the Seafood Depot on Aviva Park Drive off of Weston Rd, north of Steeles(across from the Toronto Star office). They sell lots of neat things at good prices that you could wrap yourself. I haev gone there for favors from my brother's wedding shower and for my parents anniversary party. You should make this your last stop as they do sell fish as well, and you are guaranteed to come out smelling like fish. I hope this helps.

I'm giving candy apples - $1 each. Might work if your wedding isn't too formal!

You could always donate to the Cancer Society (or another Charity) in lieu of Favours. That's what I did for my wedding. They give you really nice cards to give your guests.

My guests were extremely impressed and they liked having something that meant something as opposed to something they will probably just throw out in a year or two.

I also like the candy apple idea...because it's something they can enjoy...I LOVE CANDY APPLES!

That is great as well. Do they give you any amount of cards to give to the guests.

They will give you as many cards as you need. I ordered an extra 25 just in case. Some guests wanted an extra and I had family that couldn't come who I wanted to give these to as they had sent me a gift as well and I just put it in the envelope with the thank you card.

I just got married in May. I bought 2 pounds of bulk wildflower seed for 150 guests and filled small plastic bags with the seed so that it is not spill everywhere then put the bags in flower boxes. I only had 10 boxes left because guest were taking the seeds out of the boxes and leaving the boxes behind. I found the favors at http://www.favorideas.com/shopping/prod/GS67227.htm
Hope this helps.

What month is your wedding and do you want a favor that matches the season? As a generic idea: we bought lace boxes - since lace was a theme we carried throughout our wedding - and filled them with pastel candy-covered chocolates from our local bulk grocer. They doubled as place card settings and we printed special thank-you messages on them to our guests. We tied them with ribbon in our wedding colors, also.

theknot.com has a wedding shop with favor ideas too.

there are some great new "botanical papers"- you can do bookmarks, or print seating cards on it. They have seeds in the paper, so at the end of your wedding, guests can plant them- you can choose from trees or flowers. I thin it's really cute (and inexpensive). I do think it needs to be something personal- your favorite candy, etc. MArtha Stewart mag always has some great ideas!

We've decided to make Strawberry Jam for the favors, the cost for the jars (250ml)were 50 cents each, then the strawberries, pectin and sugar on top of that...so when I'm finished I estimate my total cost per favour is $2. If you decide to go this route, make sure you make the jam no sooner than 2 months before the wedding...this will ensure they don't spoil before your guests can enjoy it...as well just pick the berries when in season and freeze them until you're ready to make the jam...Good luck with whatever you choose!!

For my wedding we have decided to have mini bottles (half size) of wine. That way they have something to take away with them with our special labels on them. Depends how many people you have but its normally pretty cheap. Also, letting everyone pick between red and white is always nice.

I AM ALSO NOW LOVING THE CANDY APPLE IDEA! You could add special tags to all of them with your name and date on them! Awesome!

We bought small frames through the Wedding Channel website to use for the seating cards.

Then, we went to Flickr and created small "business cards" from their affiliate, MOO. The cards had different photos of us on the front, and instructions for uploading photos to Flickr on the back. They fit perfectly into the frames.

We put the cards on the tables. Once people had found their seats using the framed seating cards, they could take out the card with their name and table number, and replace it with a photo card, and take home a photo frame with a photo in it, plus then upload the photos they took for everyone to see after the wedding!

For my engagement I gave out 2 wine glasses, with candles in each glass, rose petals at the bottom, our picture infront of the container and mine and my husbands name printed in the ribbon tied around. It was very elegant and everyone was happy.
