My daughter is getting married and wanted to be able to have a venue where you were not obligatd to use their caterer. She is renting U of L @ Shelbyhurst. Kingsley will do the catering. They will provide bartender and you can purchase your own alchohol.

We got married at Glassworks downtown. We used the rooftop for the ceremony and the 2nd floor for the reception (they also have space on the first floor). We, too, wanted to use our own caterer and bring in our own alcohol, and we used Chardeau's catering, which was wonderful. They are very willing and able to customize a menu based on your budget, and were fine with us providing our own alcohol for their bartenders to serve. (We used Adrienne and Co. in Jeffersonville for our cake, which was one of the best decisions ever!) Good luck planning!

My fiance and I are getting married at Farmington over on Bardstown Road (right off of the Watterson). It's $1000 to rent the entire property on the weekend. Included in the price is the carriage house (full kitchen, bathrooms, 2 large rooms, and good rooms for changning), about 80 wooden chairs, a few large tables and parking spaces. It's a really beautiful venue if you're looking for an outdoor garden wedding. Our reception will be at Farmington as well. We're having Kingsley cater it with a pig roast (we're leaving out alcohol since that adds on a lot of cost which we'd rather spend elsewhere) and with a $3000 photographer (Bella Grace Studios: that's our big splurge), we're looking at a complete wedding under $10,000. With just Kingsley and Farmington, if you're having under 100 people and you're willing to do some things yourself, you could easily pull it off under $4000.
