I just had mine at the Hotel Allegro. It was amazing. Sorry I have never been to the Congress.
We are having our wedding at the Sutton Place Hotel this weekend, but I had not heard of this hotel until your post. Here are some reviews to help you out - good luck!
We didn't actually have our reception there, however, we did look at it. The coordinator showed up 30 minutes late to our meeting, so things got off to a shaky start. She was a bit short with us and did not have a lot of answers to questions that we had.
In addition to that, we had a friend that got married there and there were picketers out front. Evidently they are out front of the hotel every Saturday. Just an FYI....it is a beautiful hotel, but there are a few bumps that come along with having your wedding there, too, from what I have heard and experienced. Hope this helps!
We also looked there and after confirming our appointment the day before, no one was there to show us around! We were disapointed after we looked around. For such a beautiful and historic venue it really needs to be cleaned up. The one area smelled smokey and old.
However, we ended up having it at the Knickerbocker Hotel which I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend. They are beyond amazing there and since it is a smaller hotel they really provide a lot for you. We are still being told that is was the best wedding that they had ever been to.
I have some really cool custom items that are affordable that you maybe of some interest to you!
