Depends on what you are looking for. I'm getting married in Oct. It's my second wedding so we wanted a more casual, party, celebratory, feel. One of the best kept secrets is "Camp Buckhorn" at the top of Paris Mtn. State Park. It's an old lodge, with 8 primitive cabins and a pond. We are getting married on the grassy area in front of the pond and the reception will be in the rustic lodge. When you rent it you get the entire facility from Friday until Sunday...so you can get in to set up, etc. and if you have out of town guests, etc. they can sleep in the cabins. They are primitive though, but the sleep a total of 42 people and the entire price for everything is 850.00. You have to arrange your own catering, etc. If you are looking for FORMAL, this would not be ideal....however for a natural settting, with a more casual feel, it's a great venue.

I love the lady I am going with for my wedding at the end of May. Extremely reasonable about price and super easy going. Check her website: http://www.hedrickhousecatering.com/

I love the fact that I get get married and have the reception there, plus she is super flexible about you personal preferences. 1 mile from Haywood Road, but you don't notice the hustle in bustle. Perfect for the garden wedding.

I want to get married in January...I know, BRRRR! but it's a special date. Can't seem to find any easy accomodations for that time of year. It has to be simple (cost is an issue) small but nice. HELP!!!

Ohhh that is a tough one. Realistically what is your budget? That will really determine the venue.

Thanks for your reply, first of all I'm in my 40s, this is my 2nd time around, but this time it's the REAL THANG... so I want it to special but nothing like it would be for a young bride. My budget is slim, no more than $2000. (excluding the dress) there will only be 20-25 guests if that. We're new to the area and need all the help we can get.

Humm that is tough....obviously it will have to be indoors. There are quite a few bed and breakfasts around here that would be able to do a cute little afternoon bruch/wedding....I am sure the cost would not be a pricey with the full blow options ... The Mill House, downtown is cute inside and also have food options...have you checked that out yet?

You should do it in the Rock Quarry GArden on Cleveland Street close to downtown...it's like 250 bucks or something to reserve it... set up some rental chairs...a few flowers...you can set up a cake table, etc.. on the grassy area...it's very pretty...quaint....outside in a natural setting... contact the city of greenville for specifics...I've seen many weddings there and they are very very pretty.

A friend at work said something to me about the Rock Quarry, but I haven't seen that either yet, thanks for your suggestion. I now have two possibilities.

The problem you are going to run into at the rock quarry is that its going to be VERY cold in January.
