I am looking for some interesting gift ideas for my flower girls (ages 4 and 7) and my ring bearers (ages 6 and 5). I keep seeing jewelry for the girls, blah, boring....anybody have some recommendations?
Thanks!
Barbara

We did not have the children attend the reception so we got decorated sugar cookies (in the shape of a wedding cake) to give to all the children attending the wedding. These were given to the children immediately after the ceremony.

I got my flower girls purses from the Women's Exchange that had their names embroidered on them. They were such a hit that I literally had to talk one of them into releasing it to her mother before she walked down the aisle. We got our ring bearer a watch. It was great because he told us the time the whole evening. We did a digital watch (our ring bearer was 4). For a 6 year old, you could do a regular watch. I teach this grade level and they love it! Hope this helps.

Congrats on your engagment!!
I have a 4 and a 10 year old for flower girls and at first I didn't want to get them jewelry, however I saw these really cute 'golf bracelets' at swavorski for 30 bucks. They are plastic and covered with crystals. They come in purple, pink, orange and green. They really are cute for girls that age and it's something that grows with them because they are adjustable. Good luck!!

Gift bags are a really great idea, especially if you plan to let them be at the reception. Fill a basket or canvas bag with fun stuff like bubbles, coloring/puzzle books, etc. Let each kid pick one thing from it for before the wedding, then they can have the rest of the stuff at the reception. The kids really like it, and you get good behavior throughout the evening.

Thanks for all the great ideas! I like the purse idea and getting them embroidered. Where did you take them for embroidery?

They embroidered them at the Women's Exchange (on Clayton Rd in Ladue). Allow a week or two though.

I have never been to the Women's Exchange, but I can see I will have to! Thanks for the info!

How about silver plated piggy banks. You can also get silver trains for boys that can be engraved and engravable yoyo is nice too. I've seen a good selection of wedding party favors at www.chicweddingfavors.com
