I'm a catering sales manager at The Westin Savannah and we have ample room for a sit down dinner for 150 - 200! Feel free to give me a call at 912-201-2042.
We are going with Savannah Station for our reception. Our guest list is at 150 right now, but the place can hold up to 400, I think. The room has curtains that be pulled to make it fit the size you need. We just saw it for the first time last week and it's beautiful! Here's the website: http://savannahstation.homestead.com/index.html. Theresa is the coordinator and is very helpful. I have pictures of the place if you'd like to see them, just let me know. Good luck with your search.
Hi Rachel! Congrats on your engagement! I got married in Savannah we did a destination wedding and when I started looking I had the same problem. I ended up getting married in Forsyth Park, had my guest park at The Mansion and then everyone walk over to The Mansion for our sit down dinner! The Mansion is able to accommodate I think up to 200. We had about 130 show up. It was amazing venue! They were great! We got married on a Sunday, which helped bring the cost down a lot from a saturday wedding! Below is a picture of our reception in The Mansion. It shot AMAZING photos!!
Congratulations, Rachel! The above ideas are great, and here are a couple others:
Charles Morris Center
American Legion Ballroom (I am MOH at a wedding here in the fall, it is a beautiful historic but newly renovated ballroom, great location, just off of Forsyth Park & more affordable than the Mansion)
Have fun planning!
Hi and Congrats Rachel,
The Telfair Museum is wonderful as well, but you would have to hire your own caterers.
The Mackey House
I am a wedding planner and designer if you need any help.
Mansion at Forsyth Park is beautiful but on the higher price end...
We had our reception at Bryson Hall. It can accommodate somewhere around 200+. I loved this place because it was right downtown, and it has a lot of history. It used to be an old Packard dealership, and still has the original marble floor. We tried to rent a Packard as our getaway car, but didn't have any luck.
Good luck with your planning, and most importantly, have fun.
You might try the Davenport Museum, The Olde Pink House Restaurant, and The Maritime Museum.
Savannah Riverboat Cruises, has a deck on the Savannah River Queen that can accommodate up to 200 guests for dinner
Get in touch with Karla with River Street Riverboat Company with a group of 200 you can even charter a private boat and customize your event to make it really yours!
I recommend the Charles H. Morris Center. Depends on the look you want. If you are interested in the rustic, wooden rafter ceiling and brick wall interiors... this is the place
