I will say that it definitely makes things easier if you use a wedding coordinator. We just were simply trying to keep ours simple and as inexpensive as possible. We only had 50 people and they were all family and only our closest friends, so it was a very simple ceremony (with only the ocean as decor) and a simple cookout at the Gulf Shores Activity Center (ie, no caterer) and my best friend took the photos.
All we really needed was a place to have the reception/ cookout, a hotel and "the perfect beach." I just did a LOT of research online and telephone calling. In the end it was all good, but the stress of not really knowing until I got down there...well, if we could have, I think it would have been better to have a coordinator. They can work with your budget and there are beaches within a 5 minute drive that gets you away from the Spring Break crowds.
Thanks for the advice. We also are on a really small budget so trying to go the inexpensive route. Im worried about using someone and it not turning out very nice. We also are only having very few people there but no reception going to have that at home. I have been looking at Beach Dream Weddings website but again kinda ifie about it.
We just had my daughter's wedding at the Gulf Shores Wedding Chapel. The owners also do beach weddings, so would suggest talking with Elaine (Owner). She's very helpful and will try to accommodate you. Their web site is under Gulf Shores Wedding Chapel. She has years of experience and also lots of contacts. Hope this helps.
I have sent a email to them but haven't heard back asking her a lot of questions. Thank you for the info it is very helpful to know someone used them and was pleased.
You may want to try calling her. I do know that she has been very busy this month with weddings. If you need any other info, please let me know and I'll be glad to pass along what/who we used.
I will do We are getting married in June of next year but am trying to get all lined out. Again thanks so much and if I have any other questions I will contact you. Thanks again!
I am getting married at the beach in May. I planned on a small wedding but it's looking like 100+guests at this point. I definitely wanted a private beach so we rented the Halekai III which on the end of West Beach BLVD and the wedding party is staying there. The wedding will be on the beach and the reception under the house. I didn't use a wedding coordinator and did most the work myself but our caterer also does wedding coordination and they are great! It's Staycations. We did end up going with their DJ and rental company. Our Rehearsal dinner will be at Cobalts. Oh and we are using Pavel Photography...by far the best deal I found in Gulf Shores! If you need anything else let me know! Oh and Congratulations!
