Hi CherriT - 27 days that is just around the corner. You have a lot of work to do do over the next few weeks, but it can definitely be done. The first thing to do is find a venue. Since you are planning for a Sunday wedding there should be a few venues available. Are you wanting a beach wedding, what kind of reception would you like? How many guests do you think will be attending? Once that is picked out get some invitations and get those out. From there your next step would be to find a photographer and someone to marry you. If you attend church regularly check with you pastor first. If not, we would be happy to help you with an officiant. We do have Sunday, November 7th available and would be happy to help where ever we can. The next step is catering if the venue you choose doesn't provide it. Then a dress, decor (flowers and so on..) and other details. You can e-mail us at email@example.com Best of luck!
Thank you - I will definitely be in touch tomorrow. We are thinking of something pretty small with about 50-75 people. It is late notice for our out of town friends to come, so it will be mostly close family and friends. Do you have any suggestions on venues? I originally wanted a church wedding, but our minister doesn't have time to do the required premarital counseling, so that is not going to work. It would be nice to find a place where we could do both the ceremony and reception as well as food and decor. An all in one type place would be great!
My wife and I own Simple Weddings. I was in the military myself and we would be honored to help. We also offer a 10% military discount!
Please feel free to check out our website at www.simpleweddingsflorida.com for planning tips, pictures, ideas, and our packages and prices.
We can assist you with everything related to the wedding, and we have relationships with several preferred caterers and restaurants for your reception.
Please feel free to contact us at 727-537-9331 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Congratulations on your engagement and good luck with your planning! Don't worry - 27 days is very do-able!
We planned ours in just over a month at the sirata beach resort on st Pete beach. Also check out the thunderbird beach resort. I stay here for my bday in oct every year. Just got back from there Monday. There were a lot of pretty weddings this weekend plus they have live music and tiki bar on the beach.
Fort DeSoto, you just need to fill out a form and you can set everything up on the beach. We rented chairs and set them up about an hour before the wedding. They have a banquet hall there, except I don't think they allow alcohol. Good luck.
I will be happy to help. I work for the Hilton St. Petersburg Bayfront and although we are not on the beach, we can do the ceremony and cocktails by the pool. We have a beautiful ballroom that can accommodate your wedding. Please let me know if you and your fiance would like to come in for a site. I can be reached directly at 727-825-7018.
Also check out Grand Plaza, we have a friend who bar tends there, and there are always weddings going on. Good luck!! I have a few photographers for really small budgets that are just starting out to $3k, depending on budget. If you need help let me know, I planned my whole wedding pretty much by myself. You can email me at email@example.com
Good Luck and Congrats!
Good morning Cherri, Take a deep breath because it will all work out just fine. You have gotten some great suggestions already. If a beach wedding is what you want I agree with Reagan about Ft. DeSoto. It is such a pretty white sand beach and not as busy as something like Clearwater or St. Pete. Jessika's suggestion of the Sirata and Thunderburd are great ideas also.
Stehman Photography is available on Sunday, November 7th and we do have special two-in-one photographer and officiant packages. That would take care of two of the important parts of your day. Please check out our website at www.stehmanphotography.com or give me a call at 727-460-5224 We would love to assist you in any way we can. I would be happy to get you connected with vendors that are still available for your wedding so you can get this taken care of with a few days to relax before the big day.
May your marriage be a happy one!
Hi CherriT69. Planning a last minute wedding can make you feel overwhelmed and in a panic however, there are some wonderful vendors in our west coast central FL area that are here to help (as you can see from all the posts above)! Rest assured your special day will be beautiful, memorable & a huge success! :)
If you are in need of Disc Jockey entertainment, we hope you will consider us. We are Grant Hemond & Associates and our phone number is 727-736-2316. You can also check us out at www.granthemond.com Please keep in mind that due to the fact your event is coming up so quickly as well as the fact that Sundays are considered off-peak dates-- We Will Work With Your Budget!!
Cherri - Grant Hemond is a great company to work with! We did a wedding with their DJ Doug Decker in June and he did a fantastic job keeping that dance floor going, plus he was friendly and easy to work with. I would highly recommend Grant Hemond!
Thank you everyone for all of the help. You have made me feel like this is a manageable process. I have started making calls to venues and have a few more to make before noon. We are on a limited budget because we didn't have a long planning and saving period, so I appreciate all the suggestions I have gotten so far. Keep them coming!
Congrats and thank you for your service! My fiance is now out of the army but I understand how tough it is to be a military wife at times so thank you for supporting him!
Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org - I can send you an entire spreadsheet of vendors I've gathered in the area who have great pricing and give military discounts!
Fort DeSoto beach is the best beach in St. Pete! It is quiet and natural. You can have a sunset wedding, but just make sure your guests are on their way out straight after. There is a place where you can have the reception (by the fort), but no alcohol is allowed.
It was free, too!!
Wow, thank you Carla for your kind comments! The feelings are mutual! :)
Thanks everyone for your all of your encouragement. We have gotten our photographer and officiant nailed down. After talking with Carla at Stehman Photography and Vick at Ceremonies Just for You, I booked with them right away. We called a few others, but Carla's price and her personality are unbeatable. We are excited she was open last minute!
Thank you KPause for suggesting Fort DeSoto, that is where we were leaning already. We are going to do the ceremony there and a friend of ours that has a huge house close by has offered their home for a cocktail type reception. So that is a load off on my shoulders. We have decided to get our cake from Publix because they are really reasonable and we know that we love their cake.
I still need a dress, but I do have two appointments today and hopefully I will find something that fits. We also need flowers/decor, catering, and not sure yet if we can afford to hire a DJ at this point.
Thanks again everyone!!! Keep the suggestions coming.
Doug and Grant Hemond you are quite welcome! We need to set up a time so you can see the album from Mendy & Derek's wedding, I think you would love it.
Cherri, we are really excited that we can work with you and help document your wedding day memories! Thank you for your kind words. I am sure it will be a beautiful wedding. Remember I am here if you need anything.
Thanks for all of the advice everyone!!!! The wedding was perfect! it was a little chilly this weekend, but we had a blast.
