I am planning a very simple wedding and dont have much for my gown, two family members have offered me thier gowns which I have to say are very very beautiful. The thing is they both are now divorced! Is it bad luck to wear one of the gowns when both marriages have been depleted? I am sooooo confused but really love both dresses! What should I do?

Personally I would wear one of the dresses if you love them and they have been lent to you. It seems silly to me to pay $2-6k on a dress that you will wear once (whereas a band, food, decor, etc. will be something all will enjoy and remember). But that is of course my prioritization :) I understand the concern about superstition, but as long as you have 100% reason to believe your marriage will not end as theirs' did then it won't happen-- luck or no luck!

Absolutely fine to wear one of them! The dresses represent beauty in and of themselves and a loving gesture by your family members. Don't even think twice about "their" marriages. Yours is YOURS and completely separate from the dresses! Wear them and enjoy the savings!

I know my marriage will last since we have been together 13years already. I just wasnt sure that wearing a dress that someone already wore and their marriage didnt work if they would be able to watch me get married in thier dress! thank you for your advice it is going to help me decide!

It’s Martin from Katfam Photo. Choose the best one for you and don’t worry about the history of the dress. It is the present and future that you’re building.
Take the best one; a meaning is between the two of you and has nothing to do with the “dress”
Take the dress save money and use to hire Katfam Photo to capture your moments in time.
Take the dress; one makes their own luck in the world

If you really like one (or both) of them - I would most definitely go ahead and wear one of them. BUT - you have to have a positive attitude regarding your own marriage - and believe in your heart that your marriage will last forever. . . and stop thinking about the "history" of the gowns. You just have to stay focused on your own relationship and your upcoming wedding. If you had found a used wedding dress on-line or at a local upscale thrift shop - and didn't know the gown's history - you would go away and just be happy you found a perfect dress for a very affordable price.....and think of it as a great deal!!
