We were looking to get married at Grace Episcopal Church in downtown Charleston. I heard that you don't have to be a member to get married there. Does anyone know of the cost associated?

If that's too expensive, are there other Episcopal Churches or non-denominational where you can get married without being a member?

Thanks!

Your best bet is Trinity United Methodist Church, located at 273 Meeting St. in Historic Downtown Charleston (www.trinityumccharleston.com). Gorgeous sanctuary and close to the best hotels and reception venues in Downtown. Church is Charleston's oldest Methodist Church. It as perfect for a church wedding.

When I was looking for a ceremony venue in Charleston last year all of the churches somewhat close to the battery charged at least $5,000 for non-members. We ended up getting married on the lawn of the Palmer House B&B. Good luck with your search & happy planning!

St. Luke's Chapel is a very popular place. Very beautiful with a center aisle for the bride to walk down. It is located on the MUSC campus near downtown Charleston. If you are having a smaller guest list, then Tidewater Chapel is worth looking into. It is located just over the bridge in Mt Pleasant. All the best to you in your planning.

I do not know the cost of Grace. I do know that you do not have to be a member.

Trinity charges $3,150 turn key! This includes organist, director, and officiant.

You don't have to be a member at the French Huguenot Church. It is $3,000 for non-members. www.frenchchurch.org

The Circular Church on Meeting Street is non-denominational and I think costs 2k. St. Luke's Chapel is also a good choice and not as pricey. Good Luck!

Circular Church is not non-denominational! It is a United Church of Christ (UCC) Church. The cost is $2,250. St. Lukes is so, so nice, However, it is out of loop when it comes to location. If you want a Destination Wedding, it should be about location, location, location. St. Luke's is only near two reception venues and is not near any Hotels in the Historic Section of Downtown Charleston. Stay with Bethel UMC, Trinity UMC, Circular Church, and other churches which are near hotels, the better reception venues (Society Hall, Charleston Place, etc.). Book your reception venue first and then look for a Church! The better reception venues book up to two years in adance! Most churches can accomodate more than one wedding on a given Saturday!
