The only thing to worry about with battery operated lighting is that the batteries do not go out during the reception.
I agree. Make sure the batties are new and yoiu check them the day before or morning of the wedding.

Hi! For one of my favorite weddings last year, the couple picked two colors (purple and turquoise) and did the can lights along the sides of the hall and they also found LED battery lights of the same color. They buried them in the bottom of tall jars or vases and put these expandable jelly balls (they start out as tiny dry beads and grow into these marble sized blobs!) on top of the lights. It was a very cool effect and they did it completely themselves. They also added in glow in the dark necklaces and bracelets. Here are two photos to show you what I'm talking about!
