Hi,
We live in the Rockford area and are planning our wedding on September 25,2010. We already booked our reception but it turns out, our ceremony location was already booked at the Japaneese Gardens. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to find another outside location in Rockford or near it? Or is there anything else we can do besides have the ceremony in a church because of conflictiong religeous beliefs? Thanks so much!

If you're attracted to the outdoor idea, both Klehm Arboretum in Rockford, and Rotary Gardens in Janesville, WI (30min North of Rockford) are great locations. My wedding last August was at Klehm. Beautiful outdoor setting with a covered pagoda-like structure in a fountain garden, koi pond, hedge maze, and hundreds of different trees and flower varieties. Somewhat expensive, but cheaper than Anderson Gardens and with fewer restrictions. Good Luck!

One option is Midway Village. They have a gazebo for outdoor ceremonies.

My wife and I got married August 15th of last year at Midway Village, right next to the Gazebo in front of the garden. We would highly recommend it; their prices are very good and the site was beautiful.

My husband and I also had conflicting religious beliefs and I originally wanted an outdoor wedding as well but was afraid of the weather not cooperating!! I ended up having our ceremony and reception at the Clock Tower Resort and it was beautiful, they have a great room called Figgs with a fountain and HUGE windows!

Good luck and Congratulations!!

Klehm is much too expensive - try midway village - and no you don't have to use the gazebo - it is too frufru for me anyway - there are other areas back by the barn or in a clearing you could have the wedding - whatever you do, i'm sure it will be beautiful!

We were married at Midway :)

I was thinking about looking into the clock tower for my reception and I am just cautious about pricing. I have about 100-150 guests. If I may ask, what was the pricing for you?

It was a $6,000 minimum to rent the Figgs reception room, they have buffet or traditional plated options, but you have to go with them for food, they don't allow outside catering, but the food was great. We ended up having about 115 people. Keep in mind that this room is the smaller banquet hall and they only have enough room on the main floor for 10 round 10 top tables so we had to have one dinner table on the dance floor during dinner, and then it was removed after wards (we just put the younger kids there) Good luck!
