My daughter just ended her engagement and now we're sitting here with many items still in they're original packaging. I tried Craigs List but no response. Does anyone have any ideas as to what to do with... a beautiful wedding runner, bridesmaid dresses and other wedding items????

You can try Craigslist again, or perhaps eBay. Or maybe try the Buffalo Exchange or one of those second hand stores that will buy stuff?? Do you have a photo of the items or is the ad still up in Craigslist? I know a few people gettin married this year, perhaps someone will need something you have?!

Sorry to hear about the wedding engagement ending. Send me a photo and your purchase price for the items you have and I'll see if any of my clients want to make an offer on the items. http://theabbeycatering.com

First, sorry to hear about the ending of the engagement. I am sure everyone is very disappointed. I hope all hurt hearts heal quickly.

I would also try Ebay...and more importantly...the bridal sites, such as the "Wedding Channel" http://forums.weddingchannel.com/Main.aspx

They have a community forum where you can post an ad...also try http://www.brides.com/

Basically, any site such as this one that has a community where you can post a simple ad, as you would one Craigslist...if you can, post pictures of the items you are looking to sell.

Hope this helps.

I still have the runner. It's 50' long and can be cut if you need it shortened. It's fully backed so it doesn't slip and I bought it from the onlly company that apparently sells them this way. Did you get a chance to look at it via the link???
Let me know.
Thanks

Hello, well sorry to here about your daughter but I have some ideas.
First if the items are in their packages unopened, try and return them to the store for at least store credit. then you could lest your items on here or any of the wedding forms for people that donta large budget , that might be able to get the items from you for a cheeper price then they could if they had to go to the stores. Hope this helps also what are the items you have I might be interested in getting some of them??

Please don't be sorry it is really for the best for everyone I think. I've returned what I could and only having remaining three dark purple JHelm bridesmaid dresses w/matching earings and a variety of large candy containers for a candy bar from Crate n Barrel. So, it could be worse. Thanks for your advice!
Take care,

There are classified adds on www.weddingbee.com
If you didn't have any luck with Craig's list it could be you didn't use photos? I know photographs seem to be the only way any responses ever come from Craig's list. If you still have items, I'd give wedding bee a try. I actually purchased items from there.

I really do appreciate the interest. I don't have the dresses anymore however, once I started listing them I saw tons for sale on the internet so, I'm sure you'll find some great dresses. Good luck!
