We were married at the barn this past June. We used Schauls catering - they were amazing! We recieved numerous compliments on how great the food was. Because of the number of people at our wedding, we had buffet style, which i was original not in favor of. Everything ended up working out perfect. We had our ceremony and reception at the barn and everything worked out well. If you do use schauls, i would suggest not using their bartenders. I think that was the only complaint I had - the bartenders. Stan - the guy in charge of the barn is odd - and to be honest - he is not the easiest person to work with BUT if you are patient and can work with him - your event will turn out beautiful. Last that I heard, the guy that manages the barn wasn't going to allow external caterers, only offering their in-house service.
That may be the case, as of June, he had a list of 7 caterers that were "approved". I was allowed to bring someone in that was not on the list, but it would cost a flat fee of $100 (because he gets a kick back from the caterers on the list). Schauls, the caterer we used, was on the approved list.
