Friends of mine had their wedding on the Gateway Flipper, located in Station Square. Everything was included, vows were taken in front of the point at sunset. It was beautiful and fun! Another thought is Armstrong Farms, in Saxonburg, its over 100 years old, honestly, it is really is a nice place (if you want different)
There are a few places in the area, Armstrong Farms is nice, the Succop Conservancy, south of Butler.
I have a few places too.
If you live in Moon Township, then I would definitely check out Hyeholde Restaurant, if you haven't already. We are getting married there late October so it's a little too risky for us to have an outdoor ceremony...but they do have an outdoor area for ceremonies that is very pretty.
While our wedding was the traditional "Pittsburgh" wedding (Heinz Chapel/Sheraton Station Square), I would second the recommendation for the Hyeholde Restaurant after attending a friend's wedding there. We also checked out Shannopin Country Club in Ben Avon Heights (outdoor deck).
Robin Hill, might be what you are looking for. I work at all the locations mentioned. Each place has many good points, I have played at everyplace mentioned. My first and most important question is "What do you want?
I really just want a very casual, non-traditional wedding. My biggest fear though is weather not cooperating so I would ideally prefer an indoor option as well. I also would like to have the ceremony/reception at the same location or within close proximity. I wanted to do a barbeque/cookout reception. Thanks for the suggestion:)
I have a daughter that is getting married in March in north hills and I was wondering does anyone know of a nice OUTDOOR place to get pictures around then. i hear they are doing something to lake at North Park so that is out. anyone know of some places else, I have hear lake at sisters of divine providence????
