Our Wedding Web Site
Our Wedding Web Site
Seattle, WA 98109, US
This site (mywedding.com) is free and very easy to navigate and create. *Highly* recommended (test drove several others before deciding on this one) Drawbacks are limited number of pages/headings and most frustratingly- folks not visiting and reading the damn thing we spent lots of time and energy making!
Ceremony
Golden Gardens Bathhouse
8498 Seaview Pl NW
Seattle, WA 98117, US
You can't beat the location- especially given a beautiful day, which we were fortunate to have. If you're a fan of exposed interiors (brick, beams, etc.) this is an exceptional and unique space. However, it is completely DIY. That could be daunting for some of the more delicate Brides, or perfect for those who are clever, micro-managing, particular visionaries. Plenty of space for a ceremony and depending on your creativity level, a memorable experience for all attending.
Reception
Golden Gardens
Seaview Pl NW
Seattle, WA 98117, US
In selecting this venue, you must not care that it is in a very public and popular location. *Note> Be aware of parking limitations. Also, the Seattle Parks Department is having a hard time getting a handle on the proliferating graffiti which mars the windows and facade, unfortunately. The employees are most helpful and eager to ensure your rental is suitable, but it's recommended you address specific issues needing attending (dust surfaces, lower stanchions for load-in/out, etc.) with team members. Despite the overwhelming packet of instructions, insurance, permits, etc., it's really an easier process than it seems at first and incredibly cost effective.
Hello!

Our house of love. And a great place in the middle of all the hub-bub for respite and preparations.
9/3/07 Brunch
Fremont Dock Restaurant
1102 N 34th St
Seattle, WA USA
(206) 633-4300
We love The Dock for its blue collar vibe and plethora of TV sets on game days, as well as the convenient locale. But their Bloodys Buddy (Bloody Marys) are The. Suck. Served in a small rocks glass sans salted rim, with no embellishments (We believe one should eat their Bloody) and little flavor, save for too much Tabasco, they just aren't worth the price. Nor was it justified for us to leave the Governor's Suite at The Grand Seattle Hyatt on our Honeymoon night to schlep down here in the AM on Labor Day. Most of our OoTG had made their way to SeaTac and those remaining knew the Mecca and 5 Spot offer up far better grub and Bloodys- tho' you do have an inimitable wait for said pleasure.
Airport
Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA)
SEA - Seattle-Tacoma Intl Airport
WA 98158,
Gads. It's an International airport post 9/11. What could be worse? At least it's fairly close to where we live.
Hotel.

NA- None of our guests took us up on this suggestion, so not sure how it rates.

Please! The Governor's Suite at The Grand Seattle Hyatt on our Honeymoon Night- GRATIS? Perfection! From the champagne and chocolate covered strawberries awaiting our arrival to the amazing bathroom/jacuzzi tub and ultimately the fabulous bed- it was an exceptional end to a remarkable day.
The Shuey Mansion
16th Ave NE
Seattle, WA 98105, US
This is a humongous private home the owners lease out for similar events over the summer. We were beyond lucky to score such accommodations for the Bride's side traveling from primarily the Heartland. MOB was Queen Bee overseeing all things wedding and otherwise throughout the week. We celebrated 2 birthdays here as well as hosting the Rehearsal Dinner Pizza Party. Location was spot on. Highly recommended if you can procure it.
Attraction
Lockspot Cafe
3005 NW 54th St
Seattle, WA USA
(206) 789-4865
Getting a wee bit trendy and yuppie (and busy) if you're asking.
Pike Place Market
1501 Pike Pl # 510
Seattle, WA USA
(206) 622-6198
Sure! Why not? Always a crowd pleaser- though that's the exact reason you're not likely to find us down there anymore, donuts notwithstanding.
Restaurant
Araya's Vegetarian Place
1121 NE 45th St
Seattle, WA USA
(206) 524-4332
Easy to find, parking, plenty of seating (adequate service) and suited our location needs, but there are both far better Vegetarian and Thai restaurants in this city.
Pagliacci Pizza
Seattle, WA USA
Ordered placed 48 hours in advance, but there was a problematic delay as they'd misplaced the paperwork. As always, though, Pacliacci made good with speedy delivery and sweet discounts. And when they say count on X # of pizzas to feed X # of people, believe their numbers. We didn't initially and ended up calling again.

Festivals in this town are so wussy. Why a Beer Garden? Why not be able to walk around with your beverage of choice and smoke wherever and whenever the hell you want to? Why so $$ an admittance ticket? Why such questionable and average headliners? Why so many people sucking up the limitations and coming here anyway? Because it's the only option. OK for you? Then go for it.

"The Big Day [TM] has come and gone and it's so true when "they" say it will be a wonderful blur. We couldn't have imagined it any other way and we thank everyone for making our Wedding Ceremony & Handfasting Ritual/BBQ the marvelous event it was, here in Seattle."
