"This country store is a short drive from the inn. If you need some wine, sodas, snacks. They also have a little deli that makes pretty good sandwiches. They sell really good salmon. But the best things about the Wayside is the Ben and Jerry's seconds. They often have Cherry Garcia with too many choc. chunks."

"This place is a must see if you are on the Taconic. It is a true Silk City style diner. A great place to have coffee, gardenburger, etc. Everything is stainless steel. It is the nicest of the 3 diners on the Taconic."

"This farm in Salem, NY grows some of the finest daylilies in the country. The farm is owned by a couple that divide their time between NYC and Salem. They have gorgeous varieties. Be sure to taste the flowers. Day lily buds are found in Chinese and Korean cuisine. But the flowers are delicious too."
