Highland Park Village
The most upscale shopping center in Dallas (and the country's oldest). The holiday lights are spectacular here and in the surrounding neighborhood of Highland Park, and you can either drive around or take a relaxing horse-drawn carriage ride starting and ending in Highland Park Village (www.threejayscarriages.com). Great restaurants in Highland Park Village include Cafe Pacific (seafood), Patrizio's (Italian), and Mi Cocina (Mexican).

Knox - Henderson
Knox-Henderson is named for two streets that cross Central Expressway, north of downtown Dallas near the SMU Campus. It's the perfect place to park your car and stroll from shop to shop - everything is within walking distance. On the west side, Knox Street boasts a variety of restaurants (Javier's, Toulouse, Chuy's) as well as unique furniture stores and antique galleries. Anchor stores include Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, Smith & Hawken, and Weir's along with a spicy collection of eclectic boutiques. Henderson Street, on the east side of Central, has restaurants (Cuba Libre, Fireside Pies, Hibiscus) and clubs and is known for its own selection of small antique shops and galleries.
