Stubb's Bar-B-Q Restaurant

Stubb's is a great venue, which usually plays host to the roadshows that come through town. We'll see who's playing the last weekend in september! I've not been, but they say the Sunday Gospel Brunch is a great thing to do...

Congress Avenue Bridge - World's Largest Urban Bat Community!

A great thing to do on Friday night before heading over to the evening's get-together a few blocks away. Go around sunset, which is when the bats leave the bridge to go out for their evening of hunting. It's a pretty spectacular, if not a little smelly, event.

Hamilton Pool Preserve

It'll take you a good half hour to 45 mins to get here, but it's well worth it - a beautiful spot. Assuming the rain stops at some point, it's a great place to go for a brief hike and a dip with a waterfall to boot...

Jack S. Blanton Museum of Art

The Blanton is Austin's new Art Museum. Anonymous and I have somehow still not made it there, but we've heard it's an impressive place. On the hybrid map it still looks like a parking lot - Google needs to make a new flyover.

Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center

Beautiful place. it won't be wildflower season, but go anyway. you'll be glad you did.

Home to the fabulous Barton Springs Pool, as well as a departure point for kayaking on Barton Creek and into Town Lake, or for a hike/bike via the Greenbelt back up into the Barton Creek Watershed, Zilker is a fantastic park and a quintessential Austin experience - also the home of the Austin City Limits Festival (2 weeks before the wedding).
