Hi,

My fiance and I are getting married next summer, and are looking at the Texas Rib Kings for catering. Do you have any details/photos of the catering at your wedding that I could see. I'm a little skeptical about having barbecue, but it might be nice and I'm trying to keep an open mind. =) How did y'all have it done?

Hi, Victoria.

Our wedding was sort of casual, and so the bbq didn't clash with anything. Also, so that you know, it was our 2nd choice. Sean and I had originally booked a caterer, but they had to cancel 2 months before the big day due to family illness. With only 2 months and a limited budget, we found the Rib Kings.

The Texas Rib Kings were good though, especially for the price. We didn't have any complaints from the guests, and actually, the bbq was downright delicious. They set up a serving line, brought tea, and broke down the serving line after dinner...at no extra charge. You will need to provide your own plates because the plates they offer aren't suitable for a wedding.

I was skeptical about having bbq at our wedding, too, but it worked out well. My one bit of advice if you choose the Texas Rib Kings, be sure to communicate the dinner time, meaning the time you need them to be there to set up.

I added a pic from the wedding dinner to my profile. It's not a great picture and is from one of the disposable cameras (the photog didn't get many of the dinner), but it might give you an idea.

He just kept playing the pre-ceremony music over and over, and I finally had to walk down the isle after everyone started wondering what was going on. It was horrible. Fortunately, my soon to be husband was waiting at the end and swept my mind away from the embarrassment. Other than that, the DJ was alright. We also had to take the intiative for the first dance and cake cutting. He didn't follow the schedule at first but just played music. If you use his services, double and triple check with him on the details."
