Saskatoon Wedding In June
Saskatoon, SK, Canada, June, 2007
"We had a difficult time in the area finding a place for our reception that wasn't too expensive. We definately recommend sticking to hotels for a reception place unless you can bring in your own caterer or know someone who has had a good experience somewhere else. We ended up regretting our choice of venue for the reception when we started decorating the place. In regards to stores that we went to for wedding supplies and clothing we were happy with the overall friendliness & helpfulness of staff at such places as the Wedding & Party Boutique, Jenny's, Brides N' Bells, Penny Lane, and Tuxs N' Tails. Good luck with your wedding planning! Enjoy it while it lasts!"

Good experience, nice people. A little dark for photographs with a lot of shadows.

Was not impressed with the hall. We liked the layout of the place and it was a good price. However, when it came to decorating it was quite a challenge since everything is so bare. We needed a lot more decorations than other places would need, and the plug-ins were all on the roof therefore needed a lot of extension cords. We were also required to set up and take down all the tables and chairs which is not something we anticipated. They were disorganized and tried to overcharge us based on a preliminary number rather than on what the hall was actually set for. Also charged a flat rate for all even though we were supposed to get discounts for young children. The food was way too salty and we were not impressed with it other than the dessert. We didn't realize it when we booked the place since we weren't familiar with it, that there is a bar/club upstairs and it was very loud after around 10pm at night even though they told us you can't hear anything from upstairs. Also a lot of shady looking people hanging around outside the entrance. Would not recommend it at all. Only positive was that they had good set up for a dance floor with lights and good sound system.

We got a block of rooms held at the Comfort Inn for our guests and put it on our invitations. However, this turned out to be a disaster. They required a credit card to book the rooms and then made us cancel it on the evening before our wedding. We were a few hours late in cancelling and ended up being charged close to $1,000 because none of our guests ended up booking with them. We were very unimpressed and definately regretted ever having anything to do with the hotel. Definately recommend never holding a block of rooms at this hotel
