"Our wedding was great! Getting married in Charleston was really fun, but a little stressful and pricey. We were able to find some great local vendors to help us out, though. We'd really recommend Amanda Guillot (ugadawg2121@hotmail.com) if you're looking for a wedding planner. Oh, and Wedding Mapper was a great resource to share with our guests. We'd highly recommend using it!"

The decor of the venue itself is very much outdated. It appears the place hasn't been refurbished since the 90s. The food wasn't good either.

Basil boasts talented Asian chefs who turn out reasonably priced plates of spicy beef larb, beautiful curried duck, and an array of fresh stir-fries that suit the most timid palate to the bravest. The red, green and massaman curries with a choice of chicken, beef, shrimp or tofu are uniformly satisfying, and the pad kee mow noodles are suitably spicy. The dining room is sophisticated yet approachable, and packed to bursting with Charleston's young professionals at lunch and dinner. The professional service staff handles the deluge of people with grace and good humor. The restaurant does not take reservations, but it's worth it to arrive early for a table. While your waiting on your table have a drink and some tapas next door at Chai's.
