SUSAN AND DANIEL'S WEDDING

August, 2008 in Charlotte

"Charlotte and Belmont are lovely towns. Belmont is Susan's dad's hometown, so we had plenty of little places to go visit and send out-of-towners. It's very warm during the summer however, so warn your guests and dress appropriately. satin in the summer will work for the girls if you don't do floor-length gowns. there is an antique car club if you want to do sometime different for your getaway car; the club may or may not have members willing to drive their car for a stranger. Susan took the bridesmaids to the Whitewater rafting center the night before (instead of the usual mani/pedi), and everyone is still talking about it. Dan took the guys to Lowe's (Charlotte)Motor Speedway for a tour and then to the Carolina Raptor Center, and the guys had a good time."

Ceremony: First Presbyterian Church
Reception: Renaissance Suites Charlotte Hotel

Band:

Daniel Entertainment Group

310 Arlington Ave # 420
Charlotte, NC, United States

"DJ Chuck was pretty good. Per yoiur instructions, he will not play any song on your "do not play" list unless you personally ask him to play it."

Florist:

Winterpast

7 N Main St
Belmont, NC, United States

"nice flowers, decent price, we got 2 table arrangements, 5 bouts/corsages, and 6 bouquets for about $800.(hotel had simple centerpieces included in their package, so we didn't need any from the florist.)"

Limo Company:

Silver Fox

Charlotte, NC, USA

"on time, courteous, although our driver was a little on the odd side... if you have a larger wedding party (we had 5 attendants each), and aren't a total snob about bottled water, don't bother with the $40 wedding package--it gets you fresh flowers (which would have been squished with 12 of us in the limo) and Fiji bottled water and red carpet stops wherever the bride gets in or out of the car. we opted out of the wedding package and still got bottled water and good service (and the driver let the guys BYOB for the ride from the church to the hotel!)"

Photographer:

Phil Aull Studio/Rick Wynne

Charlotte, NC, United States

"fantastic. the only thing i would add is that if you want non-traditional poses (groomsmen holding up bride, maids holding up groom, etc) you need to let him know. also,"

Ceremony:

First Presbyterian Church

102 S Central Ave
Belmont, NC 28012, US

"Beautiful church with a lot of family history. however, they will perform weddings for members and their direct relatives only."

Reception:

Renaissance Suites Charlotte Hotel

Coliseum Dr
Charlotte, NC 28205, US

"fantastic. if you're looking early, be sure to email their coordinator for the menu in case the prices go up after the end of the year. prices went up $15 on almost every choice, but because we had emailed before the prices went up, the hotel honored those prices and dishes that weren't on the new menu. also, if you don't know how many people will actually attend, start out with no alcohol and no soda--it took about $12/person off our mandatory minimum, so when we had a 50% acceptance, we were able to add on the full bar and still meet the minimum--it gives you wiggle room for later. i would also ask that they light the ballroom to match the current daylight--our reception started at 5 and was lighted as if it were already midnight, which led to guests leaving early!"
