Rindi and Correy 's Wedding

October, 2007, Charleston, SC

"Our wedding was great! Getting married in Charleston was really fun, but a little stressful and pricey. We were able to find some great local vendors to help us out, though. We'd really recommend Amanda Guillot (ugadawg2121@hotmail.com) if you're looking for a wedding planner. Oh, and Wedding Mapper was a great resource to share with our guests. We'd highly recommend using it!"

The dining room is sophisticated yet approachable, and packed to bursting with Charleston's young professionals at lunch and dinner. The professional service staff handles the deluge of people with grace and good humor. The restaurant does not take reservations, but it's worth it to arrive early for a table. East Bay Deli

334 E Bay St
Charleston, SC 29401, US
843-723-1234

Lunch! East Bay Deli gets quite crowded during the lunch hour because of its convenient location. I recommend getting there around 11:30am and ordering the Citadel. This sandwich is probably the best they offer. The salad bar is very popular, but if you don't have an appetite for seconds or thirds, it isn't worth the $8. The fries are worth it for the $1 extra charge.

The menu of Italian-focused dishes includes a salad of fresh greens and crispy, delicately handled crab cakes---a tangy, tender joy. The Mediterranean salad combines artichoke hearts, red peppers and a piquant vinaigrette, while the baccala is a classic rendition of the Spanish fish soup, with dense flavors and a hint of saffron. Main dishes include boscaiola, a generous, simple arrangement of house-made wide ribbon pasta with a sauce of cream, mushrooms, pancetta, roasted garlic and sage; and a hanger steak with roasted potatoes, caramelized onions and sautéed spinach. The crème brûlée is full of vanilla flavor and properly finished. For nibbling, a tapas menu draws from Italian and Spanish influences.
