"Great food and value! This is one of my top 3 restaurants, despite being in an old Dairy Queen with on a busy highway with no view and very little ambience. I highly recommend a potato and spinach pancake to start, and be sure to check out the desert cooler."

"Best breakfast in Mt. Pleasant! The Island Potato Casseroles are phenomenal."

Restaurant:

Poe's Tavern

2210 Middle Street
Sullivans Island, SC, United States

"Great hamburger spot on Sullivan's Island - a sleepy little beach community that avoids being too touristy somehow while still being close to Charleston. The restaurant is named for Edgar Allen Poe who was posted at Fort Moultrie in the early 1800's."

Restaurant:

Red's Ice House

98 Church Street
Mt Pleasant, SC, United States

"Red's is directly on Shem Creek with great views and you'll usually see a few dolphins. The vast majority of the restaurant/bar is a huge open air deck out back where local boaters can tie off and walk right up to the bar. Food is ok but not great - this is really for views and relaxing with friends. Be sure to climb up into the "Treehouse.""

Charleston, SC, United States

Restaurant:

The Wreck Of The Richard & Charlene

"Great Irish pub with the best live music in town. (My mom likes to get on stage with the band when they play "Sweet Caroline." Be forewarned if you're there with her...)"

Attraction:

Fort Moultrie

Fort Moultrie National Monument, SC 29482
, US

"Site of one of the first decisive victories over the British during the Revolutionary War, the fort, built crudely of palmetto logs, inspired the design of the South Carolina flag and the designation "Palmetto State.""

Attraction:

Fort Sumter

"Site of the first shots of the Civil War (aka War of Northern Aggression). Or, as Anonymous calls it, "Where you LOST!" :)"

Attraction:

Old City Market

Market Street
Charleston, SC, United States

Attraction:

Rainbow Row

83-107 E Bay St
Charleston, South Carolina, US

"This is just one stop along a great walking area of Charleston. To the northeast is Waterfront Park, slightly to the north is the market, and everything south and west is historical downtown Charleston."

Attraction:

Walk the Cooper River Bridge!

"The longest cable-stayed suspension bridge in the Western Hemisphere just happens to connect downtown Charleston to the historical shrimping community of Mount Pleasant. There is a pedestrian and bike lane on the southern side, and amazing views and breezes are to be had by those who make the climb. Mount Pleasant's new Waterfront Park opened July 4th 2009, and provides parking that is convenient to the bridge, as well as a fishing pier and war memorial."
