RACHELLE AND FRYAN'S WEDDING

April, 2013 in Roxas City

"April 24th was a perfect day for a beach wedding in Roxas City, Capiz, Philippines! We had the clearest, bluest sky and an awesome sunset. I am a DIY bride, and Wedding Mapper made the planning and details a breeze."

"The place for Fryan and Rachelle's favorite fried chicken (which, unfortunately for McGenie's they have already duplicated in the kitchen)! This couple likes enjoying their food in unassuming places, so if you're okay with hole-in-the-wall food places, this would be it. Plus factor: open 'til late at night."

"If you want to bring home an authentic Capizeño "pasalubong," check out the stalls lining the street to Banica Wharf (where you also get a ride to Olotayan Island). As long as you can tolerate the the salt-and-fish smell, you'll be amazed at the wide variety of reasonably priced dried seafood here.Whether it's the freshest "tuyo," boneless dilis, or fish tocino you're after, this would be the go-to place. Roxas City is, after all, "The Seafood Capital of the Philippines.""

"Free and Rache, both nature lovers, would suggest that you don't leave Roxas City without experiencing this refreshing and enriching ride through the river. You'll enjoy being lectured by fisherfolk about the mangroves lining the river and the wildlife present there. Of course, it doesn't hurt that the floating cabaña restaurant serves great food! Their green mango salad was so good that Free didn't notice that he had already eaten okra!"

Olotayan Island

"Olotayan is Roxas City's "Little Boracay." Its serene, white shores are decked with corals washed ashore by strong waves. A 1-hour boat ride away from Brgy. Banica boat port, Olotayan Beach offers a tranquil and relaxing experience. It's the perfect tropical getaway from the stress of urban living."
