SHERENE AND PETER'S WEDDING

"Everything turned out beautiful and more than we could have asked for. Getting married late late summer in early September was the perfect timing in terms of weather and conditions. We managed to have an outdoor ceremony and pictures by the dock - out of town guests were marvelling in the pleasant weather and taking in the amazing scenery of Seneca Lake. We highly recommend Belhurst Castle!!"

Hi there-

My daughter is getting married Sept 2010. We are considering Belhurst and I wonder how you found the food and the service to be? I have read reviews concerning the food that are alarming. Any feedback you could provide would be greatly appreciated! We're also looking for a photographer. Were you happy with yours? ANy suggestions would also be appreciated. Thanks so much!

Hello there Lisa,

The food and services we received on our wedding was simply excellent. Carmen the wedding coordinator there was amazing. She has been on the job for some time now and she knows about all the little things to make our day beautiful and everything went smoothly. The day of the wedding... I only saw Carmen on several very short occasions. The first time was when I gathered with my bridal party and she passed out our bouquets to us, she helped timed us walking out for the procession during the ceremony. Later on,she helped lined us up going into the reception and then she was present again with my husband and I at our cake cutting. While Peter and I ourselves did not see her for much, everyone in the wedding party and guests knew what was going on and where to be so we did not have any surprises :) As for the food, we had the salmon and the stuffed chicken with crab for our guests. But Belhurst and Carmen was awesome enough to accomodate a couple of vegan orders as well as children's menu. We opted for local vendors and it was very nice to find out that they have also catered to wedding events at Belhurst and have worked with Carmen - so the DJ and our cake maker (a family friend based in Rochester) knew where to set up easily, how things are going to be, etc. I am not originally from western ny and the hardest ressearch my husband and I had to do was to look find a photogrpaher that does photojournalistic wedding shots. We secured Punam Bean from NYC instead of the local photographers from Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse. Punam did a wonderful job and more compared to what the local photographers were charging and we were not that impressed with their work. At this time though, Punam's work has taken off tremendously and she is travelling internationally and her prices has gone up.
