Want to enjoy some cultured entertainment while you're in Philly? Check the schedule at the Kimmel Center, where the Philadelphia Orchestra plays. If orchestra isn't your thing, other shows are frequently available as well.

Want to do some serious shopping? This is the place! The 2nd largest indoor mall in the US (Mall of America in MN still has it beat!). Wear your walking shoes! You can take Septa Bus route 38 from the hotels and then transfer to Route 125 to get here.

Fairmount Park is a 9,200 acre park - in the middle of Philadelphia! There are a number of historic sites to see here, as well as the Japanese House and Garden. Trolley tours of these sights are sometimes available (see website).

This is the part of town to come to for history buffs. The Constitution Center, Liberty Bell and Independence Hall are all here. Start at the Visitor's Center to figure out what you want to see!

YUMMM! Says it all. Sample one of each of the cannolies, and biscotti. Everything else is amazing too. But be prepared to stand in line!

If you love Italian food or open-air markets, or both, you should not miss this area. Amazing fresh pasta (we love the ravioli from Superior) and everything else you could dream of. While you're here, don't forget to visit Isgro Pastries!

Another wonderful historic building. If you have a chance to visit Center City, be sure to walk through City Hall!

Besides being a beautiful piece of architecture and home of the steps Rocky ran up (as well as an honorary statue of the him), it houses a number of lovely pieces of art. Sundays are "Pay what you wish" admission, so we encourage you to go by on Sunday before the big event! An exhibit of "Renoir Landscapes" is scheduled during that time, in addition to the permanent offerings. (Anonymous's favorite is the statue of Diana in the Great Stair Hall.)

A lot of history here, too! Started in 1892, and revitalized in the early 1990's, this market is a terrific place to check out the wares of the local Amish, get some terrific local wine (don't forget the cheese to go with) or grab a snack (or a whole meal!). Lots of fun, and bring cash for shopping (not all the stalls accept plastic).

The Franklin Institute is Philadelphia's amazing scientific museum, currently host of the King Tut exhibit (which sadly departs on Sept. 30th). Permanent exhibits include the Giant Heart (you can walk through a model human heart!), and the Franklin National Memorial. A great place to go for fun and learning, both kids and adults.

A hub for the Septa transportation system. From here you can catch the train that runs to the Airport (R1 line), and transfer to any other regional rail line, catch a subway or trolley train, or grab a taxi.

Where to catch the Market-Frankford Line. The Bus route 65 runs down City Line Ave (by the hotels) and will take you to 69th St Terminal. Probably the quickest way to get to Center City.
