Places to Shop
Powells City of Books
The largest independent bookstore the country has ever seen! From humble storefront beginnings in 1971 on a derelict corner of northwest Portland, Oregon, Powell's Books has grown into one of the world's great bookstores, with seven locations in the Portland metropolitan area, and one of the book world's most successful dot-coms (www.powells.com), serving customers worldwide.
The Shop
This is the famous Noun: a person's place for things.
Eatery
Aut
In Short The small, casual dining room is decorated with terra cotta tile bars, rustic colors, framed pictures of Pancho Villa and features a gleaming open kitchen. All set the stage for a regional menu that forgoes ho-hum burritos in favor of traditional cooking. Stars include fresh seafood ceviche, homemade chicken mole and silky homemade tortillas. The inexpensive lunch menu is a hit with thrifty locals who pile in for chopped pork and chicken tacos and tortas.
Saint Cupcake - the patron saint of sweet
Stephanie & Thom both slaved for the 'cakes.
Stepping Stone Cafe
This is where we have enjoyed a plate of cinnamon roll french toast and bacon cheeseburgers. This is where Thom proposed. It was just the two of them along with the waiter and the cook. It was perfect.
